Manning is so down-to-earth, sexy and intriguing, and Lake is so sweet, naïve and innocent.
The two characters have an obvious sexual tension that you can feel from their first meet.
I will read the next book because I'm curious how their relationship will end up.

Gah! This book was NOTHING like what I expected it to be, in the best way. I'm a huge angst whore so I knew I would be in for a ride I would love, but man, I had no idea the story would go the way it did. This book had me turning the pages just sitting on the edge of my seat the whole time. An angsty slow burn that threatens to throw you over and then reels you right back in, I loved it!

I want the second book right now!
I was glue to this story from the blurb, and, after reading the first lines, I was lost in Lake and Manning particular love story.
Ready to come back to '90?
CAPTIVATED! This is the first word I think if I have to describe it, I start reading and at 2AM I couldn't put my kindle down. I suffered with them, I breathed slow craving a moment only for them two alone. It ends with a cliffhanger and I can't wait to have the second book of this trilogy in my hands.

A stunning, thoughtful, and addicting book one in this epic series. Something in the Way completely enraptured me from the beginning to the end. I couldn't put this book down. Manning Sutter is complex, brooding, and utterly dreamworthy. He is the perfect hero. His protectiveness is swoony. His heart in the right place and his care for others so alluring. Manning will have you falling in love with him at first sight. Hawkins never disappoints and this book is completely captivating.
