Download Disney Memory Maker Photos

Disney PhotoPass gives guests the ability to view and purchase photos taken by Disney Photographers online and at the theme parks. When visitors have their photos taken, they’re issued a “PhotoPass” card which has the web address and a 16-digit ID number imprinted on it.

Disney Memory Maker Download All Photos At Once

With Memory Maker you don't need to pay for your photos – just enjoy your Disney adventure. You'll then be able to view and download each other's photos!

If guests are wearing an active MagicBand when they ride on select attractions, the photos will automatically be added to their My Disney Experience account. For guests without a MagicBand, there are touch points at Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, Space Mountain, and Splash Mountain. After riding, find your photo on the preview wall and touch your park ticket or Memory Maker card to the touch point and your photo will be added to your account.

PhotoPass is also available on My Disney Experience. You can preview yourphotos, purchase Memory Maker, share, and download your photos. Youwill also be able to find the locations of PhotoPass photographers inthe theme parks.

A Magic Shot is a way that Disney can add a little bit of extra magic to your vacation photos. They vary depending on which photographer you go to and they are often added to your images without you asking for them. Not all photographers have them available, but if the thought of specific and themed poses like the ones we've shared here are something you might like, don't hesitate to ask each time! Disney PhotoPass Photographers will be available to assist in choosing the perfect virtual background for your photos.

When getting your photo taken, have the photographer scan your MagicBand, Memory Maker card, or Disney PhotoPass card to add the photos to your account.

Photos will be available for download (unlimited number of downloads) the day they were taken and can be accessed for 45 days from that date. Before downloading, guests will have the option of editing the photos or adding specialty borders and stickers. You will have 30 days from the first download to take more pictures with your Memory Maker account.

Memory Maker can be purchased in advance for $169 and on-site for $199. If it is purchased in advance, any photos taken within 3 days of purchase will not be included. What Is PhotoPass?

PhotoPass is the system at Disney World, Disneyland, and Aulani that encompasses the photographers; all of the photos that are taken by the photographers at any location; the on ride photos, magic shots; and the area of MyDisneyExperience where you can view, edit and download your photos.

What Is Memory Maker?

Memory Maker is an “entitlement” (Disney’s term) that you purchase, which allows you to download your PhotoPass photos. You can purchase this before your trip (at least 3 days before) in the MyDisneyExperience online to save money and ensure you maximize the magic while in the parks (the pre-purchase price is not available in the app).

The price for the standard MemoryMaker product (which can be used immediately upon purchase) is now $199 (for example, if you are already at Disney), this can be purchased in My Disney Experience online, through the app, or in almost any store at Disney World and Disney World Resorts (if you purchase it on-site, you will need to link it to your MyDisneyExperience account).

You can link it to your account by logging into the MyDisneyExperience app or online, tapping or clicking on “Link Photos” and scanning the QR code on the back of your pass, or entering the number. If you get an error message, try logging out of the app and logging back in (this fixed it for me). With an annual pass that receives PhotoPass photos as part of the benefits, you receive digital downloads during the length of your annual pass of:

  • All PhotoPass photos
  • All attraction photos
    • • Space Mountain

Adding PhotoPass Photos to Your Account with Memory Maker

PhotoPass Photos With MagicBands

If you are staying onsite, you will receive a MagicBand from Disney for each person on your reservation, which will be linked to your MyDisneyExperience. When you buy Memory Maker, it will be automagically linked to those MagicBands and your MyDisneyExperience account. When anyone in your party has a photo taken, they just need to have their MagicBand scanned and the photo will be added to your PhotoPass account in MyDisneyExperience (downloadable only by the person on the account that purchased Memory Maker). Your MagicBand will make a small vibration and buzz when it is scanned by the PhotoPass photographer.

When you ride attractions that have a ride photo and/or video, the photos will be automagically added to your PhotoPass account in MyDisneyExperience, as long as a MagicBand that is linked to your account is worn on the ride and your MemoryMaker entitlement is in your MyDisneyExperience as well.

If you are staying offsite, but purchase MagicBands, it will work the same as above, as long as you have linked your MagicBands to MyDisneyExperience BEFORE using them in the park and have an active Memory Maker entitlement purchased. To link a MagicBand, just enter the number on the back side of the MagicBand into your MyDisneyExperience (go to My Account>MagicBands and Cards> click the LINK button.

A MagicBand is the easiest and preferred option for adding PhotoPass photos (especially ride photos and ride videos) to your account. If you are staying offsite, it is worth a purchase of a MagicBand for each member of your group, especially if you will be splitting up at all.

PhotoPass Photos With QR Code

You can also generate a QR code in the PhotoPass portion of the MyDisneyExperience app, by tapping on “Link Photos”. You would then have the photographer scan this, after they take a photo. You cannot scan QR codes to add ride photos at this time. Ride videos will not be accessible.

PhotoPass Photos With a Disney PhotoPass Card

Photographers have PhotoPass cards that they can scan and give to you. If you decide to go this route, you will want to take a photo of the back of the PhotoPass card (with the number and QR code), just in case you lose it. Then, you will need to link that to your MyDisneyExperience account in order to have your photos show up for downloading. You can reuse this same card anytime you get your photo taken. You will need to scan the card on the Mickey reader at the ride exit, when your photo shows up on the screen, to link that photo to your account.

PhotoPass Photos With a Disney Park Ticket or Annual Pass

You can have a PhotoPass photographer scan your Disney Park ticket or Annual Pass. You will need to link that ticket or AP to your MyDisneyExperience account in order to have your photos show up for downloading. You will need to scan the card on the Mickey reader at the ride exit, when your photo shows up on the screen, to link that photo to your account.

Which Should I Choose?

A MagicBand for each member of the group that is linked to the account that purchased the Memory Maker entitlement, is the easiest and best way to get all of the PhotoPass features at Disney World. The biggest difference will be ride attraction photos. If you do not have a MagicBand, you will need to stop at the ride exit and scan your park pass, PhotoPass card, this will add the ride photo to your account.

Ride videos and animated magic shots are not included without Memory Maker.

How Do I Add My Friends and Family?

If you are in Disney World with a large group of people and want to access everyone’s photos, check the “Include Photos Shared by Family and Friends” box and add them to your “Friends and Family List” in MyDisneyExperience. Have them check their sharing settings with you, so you are not able to make plans for them (unless you want to), this can cause problems in making Advanced Dining Reservations, if you won’t be dining at the same place (if they have an ADR and you change or make a reservation at the same time as them, they system will require you to delete or cancel their reservation, before making your own). You can find more info on Disney’s Friends and Family page as well as Disney World’s Family and Friends FAQ

Resolution of PhotoPass Photos and How-To Download

You can download photos in the app and/or on the website in MyDisneyExperience. You have 30 days to download photos. The photos downloaded in the app are full resolution (mine were 300dpi 4000×6000). You can also pay to have that download option extended for 15 days. In MyDisneyExperience, you can add borders, signatures, and other fun things to your photos as well. See our tutorial for downloading photos in the app.

The photos downloaded in the app are full resolution (mine were 300dpi 4000×6000) jpegs and the Animated Magic Shots and ride videos are MP4 files.

Is PhotoPass and Memory Maker Worth It?

How Do You Download Your Disney Memory Maker Photos

I’ve been on 15 Disney trips in the past 5 years and I purchased Memory Maker and/or PhotoPass, PhotoPass+, etc. every time but one. My only regret has ever been that I didn’t get it that ONE time! I’ve also purchased other photo packages at other theme parks and for the amount of photo opportunities at Disney, you get a lot of bang for your buck. My family knows if we see a PhotoPass photographer, we stop (unless we are in a hurry to a reservation). We usually have 200-300 photos from a week long Disney World trip, plus ride videos, and animated Magic Shots. Once in a while, a photo won’t show up or they will be over/under exposed, but it’s still worth it to me (when a photo is missing, just call Disney 407-560-4300 and tell them the date, approximate time, and they can find the photo and add it for you).

Download Disney Memory Maker Photos

Why not just have a PhotoPass photographer take a photo with my camera? You can absolutely do that and I usually have them snap one with my phone. But their camera is (97% of the time), set up specifically for that location, lighting at that time of day, and distance to the attraction to get the perfect photo. The biggest reason to get Memory Maker though is for all of the fun ride videos, Magic Shots, and Animated Magic Shots. Really, no other park does photos as well as Disney does!
