No cables connected. No button combo. Just out of the blue download mode. Then of course I just pulled the battery pack off and rebooted like it never.
Naturally, you want to have this problem solved as soon as possible so you can go back to using your device as you normally would. However, before you make any specific firmware changes to your device, it is very important that you have a backup of your device. This is because there is a real risk that you could lose all your data.

Step 1. Run the software on your computer
Get the software run on your computer after installing it. Then you will see the primary window as follows. Then choose Data Backup & Restore.
Step 2. Connect your device

Step 3. Start backing up your device to the computer

If your device continues to boot into Safe Mode, no matter how many times you restart it - there may be something physically wrong with the Volume Down button. Please get in touch by phone or Live Chat, or find your closest service location to have your device assessed and repaired.
If your device is stuck on a page that says Downloading.. you'll need to press and hold both the Volume Down and Power buttons at the same time, for 7 seconds.
If your screen is showing in tiny text Android Recovery -you'll need to be careful. It's not recommended to use this mode at all, but if you are stuck here and need to get out, follow the instructions:
